Personal/<Self> development (Career –Life) can be really hard for most adults, especially the +40s that find their skills obsolete and irrelevant in the new reality
- Discovering one’s Purpose-in-Life is not an easy, straight forward process
- Inward Looking –Self-Discovery is not taught in schools
- Most trainings focus on Problem Solving and not Strengths –discovery/development
- Soft skills gain in importance in the competence mix of the future
- Career moves often put pressure on “stretching” one’s Personal Values
- Stress is a big enemy of Positive Thinking

In each of the proposed model phases the coach provides support to the coachee such as to find the answers to the difficult questions specific to each development phase:
- Purpose: assist the coachee in discovering its own Purpose by providing specific tools/focused sessions;
- Objectives: support the coachee in selecting the SMART objectives for the coaching journey;
- Time plan: agree with the coachee with a specific time plan, targeted at achieving the specific objectives;
- Explore (self-discovery, strengths discovery): help the coachee to discover its strengths and true self, resources to be used in the transformational journey;
- Nurture/ Needs for development: identify ways to further nurture strengths but also identify needs for further skills/capabilities development (new “muscles”);
- Train (new) “muscles”: keep the coachee engaged in the process of developing new “muscles”; alternate coaching sessions with mentoring and guiding the coachee, identify the right training and resources for skills/capabilities development;
- Iterate(ions/cycles) / Innovate: coachee applies the newly acquired new skills & capabilities in its real life situations; find new paths and create new opportunities targeted at reaching the objectives;
- Achievements /Acknowledge progress: celebrate the successes;
Learn(ingpoints): encourage coachee to reflect on the lessons learnt/learning points from each experience;
