Coaching Theory
The core skills you need to hit the ground running as a coach, including an introduction to the theories and philosophies that have influenced coaching, and how each theory can be practically applied to coaching.

ICA Power Coaching Tools and the FlipIt Framework
Learn the art of Re-framing a Perspective using the ICA Coaching Power Tools - a  set of concepts based on dualities.  At any given time our perspective on a given situation or event is a choice. It may not be a conscious choice, but nonetheless it is a choice.

Coach Development, Mentor Coaching and Coaching Observation
In these practicum based labs you will take on the role of coach, and observe the coaching and feedback of others. This is the perfect space for you to practice, make mistakes, and refine your coaching personality and expertise.

Guided Study and Portfolio Creation
Instead of teaching a one size fits all coaching model, our coaches create their own unique coaching model or portfolio. This showcases who they are as a coach, and the problems they solve.

All Inclusive.  Flexible.  Self Paced (with Structure).

ICA's e-learning platform was established in 2001 and includes downloadable modules, video tutorials, class schedules, curated resources, and private forum.

Each program includes a set number of training hours. These will be a combination of live classes, guided study, reflection and self study.   It's up to each student to decided on how fast (or slowly) they would like to move through the program with the option to take 1 class a week or 5 classes a week.  It might be that you also vary it from week to week depending on your other commitments.

Study in English, Chinese or Italian

Programs are available in English, Chinese, Italian.  You can also choose a bilingual study option where the curriculum is available to you in two languages. Students in the English language stream follow the English Schedule.  Students in the Chinese language stream follow the Chinese Schedule.  Students in the bilingual language stream have a choice of attending classes in either English or Chinese (or a combination of both), and then select a single language for the submission of their portfolio work and assessments.

The ICA Coaching Power Tools are unique to ICA

The Coaching Power Tools are unique to ICA and are a set of concepts based on dualities – things that are the opposite of one another e.g. good/bad, empowered/disempowered, negative/positive. They are based on the idea that at any given time our perspective is a choice.

The FlipIt Framework uses the ICA Coaching Power Tools to Find, Feel, Frame and then Flip a perspective.  It's an interactive activity that can be used at home, in the workplace or with your clients.

Advanced Program Alumni

As a coach you will actively engage with clients to help them create deep and sustainable change in their lives.  As such, it's important that as a practising coach you are not only trained and certified, but that you continue to develop personally and professionally.  For this reason, ICA's training is both deep and lifelong. We encourage our coaches to stay connected long after graduation.

What is the difference between Accreditation, Certification and Credentialing?

We chose to align with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) because Coaching is a global profession and the ICF continues to be the most established and globally recognised peak body.

What is Accreditation?
Accreditation indicates that a school has had their program undergo rigorous external scrutiny and quality testing by a peak body.

What is Certification?
Certification is the recognized statement of attainment that indicates you have been assessed by an Accredited Coach Training Provider as having the industry skills and expertise required to practice as a coach.

What is a Credential?
With coaching, a credential designates a recognized level of expertise in coaching, as assessed by an industry peak body such as the ICF.  This is represented by designations such as ACC, PCC or MCC.

Can I count my peer coaching towards an ICF Credential?

The short answer is YES!

Because ICA’s peer coaching sits outside the program hours, it can count towards an ICF credential.  Read More

What is the Difference between a Class, a Lab, and Guided Study?

A class is theory based synchronous study where students dial into class via zoom.  A trained facilitator (PCC or MCC) facilitates the learning and discussion.

A lab is practicum based synchronous study where students dial into class via zoom.  A trained facilitator (PCC or MCC) facilitates the learning and discussion.

Guided study is asynchronous learning where ICA provides the resources and learning materials (module downloads, quiz, worksheets etc) for students to complete in their own time.  This includes portfolio and resource development.

What are the course start dates?

ICA offers a rolling program intake, meaning there are always coaching theory and development labs scheduled for newbies.  You can start the day you join.

How is the schedule structured?

Each week there’s about 8 classes in your time zone to choose from.   These will be scheduled morning, afternoon, evening and on the weekend, with most classes able to be taken in any order.

Take Your Time: If you are wanting to take your time you would attend 1 class a week (any 1 of the shown times).  You work the classes in around your own personal schedule.

Fast Track: If you are wanting to fast track you would attend at least 3 classes a week on a regular basis.  This will require you to have some flexibility with your own schedule.
