A key objective of coaching is to enable the achievement of what one wishes at some point in life. In other words, enable the achievement of success.
Therefore, it is important to cultivate and maintain a positive attitude every day, from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep. Keeping a positive attitude, you will print a different vibrational energy into your being and everything around you will reflect that energy.
What is a Positive Attitude?
Positive attitude is you vibrate in harmony with the life force which pulses inside, that keeps you alive, and wants to grow and manifest in this world through you.
It is you want and desire to move on and give your best in every moment, every day, in search of dreams and goals in pursuit of success you want.
Maintain a positive attitude to life is not simple optimism or naïve hope, but a logical attitude of whom wants the best for his/her own life.
The Universe is Pure Energy
The entire universe is composed of energy in constant motion, creating countless possibilities for all beings. The sun rises every day bringing a new lease of life to start over and follow up the success of plans to turn the page and overcome the difficulties of the past for you to start a new path in his life. Every day is a day to renew itself and represents a new opportunity for each and every one of us.
A positive attitude grows when you perceive life pulsing through your being at every moment, in every breath. It is driven when you feel and realize that you are alive and have the opportunity to learn more, to be more, to accomplish more. A positive attitude creates a real opportunity to grow and move firmly toward your goals and dreams.
There is a positive attitude when you facing difficulties and obstacles which come your way as opportunities for personal growth and improvement.
A powerful shift in perspective happens inside when you transform your way of perceiving the events that occur around them.
As I said, I’m not preaching a “silly”, or unconscious naive optimism. Instead, I follow a simple, well-structured logic, based on the fact that you can not control other people and events occurring around him, but you can control yourself.
So what you can do is choose how you will face the facts and react to events that happen in life. And, of course, is better, smarter and more productive to keep a positive attitude towards these events.
Therefore, even in the face of a negative event, it is better, smarter and more productive to realize something positive in that event.
If you can not see anything useful, keep a positive attitude and simply seek the quickest way to overcome the event, viewing it as a temporary problem, and move on, alive and strong, able to overcome the problem and walk towards desired success.
Adopt a positive attitude is better than you despair, complaining, cursing and nurture other negative feelings that will only enlarge the feeling of unwanted event.
The Events Are Neutral
Importantly, an event once occurred, can not be changed, you have no control over the occurrence of this event. However, it is also important to note that your reaction to any event can be in your control.
His attitude towards certain event can be positive or negative and it is this attitude that actually generates the consequences of the event inside.
React negatively will not change already happened, but will worsen their emotional state and diminish your vital energy, bringing negative consequences to your mood and your mental and physical health.
Also react positively will not change already happened, but it will improve your emotional state and strengthen your vital energy, bringing more power to your being and generating positive consequences for yourself and for your health. Furthermore, it will make you more fit and able to overcome and resolve any difficulties that arise in life.
Logic And Motivation
Create and maintain a positive attitude in life is possible, but requires understanding of logic and motivation of this ability, as well as determination and discipline to keep the attention awake and linked the idea to create and maintain a positive attitude at all times of their existence.
Note that these requirements are at your fingertips, and you have just to want to develop strength of will and understanding needed for this. A positive attitude is a powerful psychological tool to achieve goals and realize dreams.
A positive attitude is linked to the idea of faith and hope, which are essential elements in achieving success. Everyone who wants to achieve anything in your life, by logical reason, must to hope and believe that can get what he/she wants, and should keep in mind a positive attitude. Acting in this way, you will enhance your health and energy.
The desire to reach goals and achieve the desired success, the dream of life, is going to encourage him to move forward, overcome obstacles, to seek solutions to problems and create new ideas for growth. Willpower is a virtue and is a consequence of a positive attitude towards life.
With a positive attitude and a strong will power, you will overcome laziness, fear, doubt, weakness and inertia. With a new perspective, you will get to do all that is necessary for growth and accomplishment itself.
Have Faith In Life
We know that having faith in life is a vital and important factor in the way of success. When you turn and develops willpower, will realize that their faith in life increases, and your willingness wins huge boost.
In fact, one who has willpower has faith in life and whom has faith in life always remains willpower in an alive and strong way. The energy in these attributes of the soul is the same, is the desire, the drive toward life that beats within us and in all of nature.
Develop willpower and will be generating more faith. Cultivate faith and will be creating more strength in his will power. This allows you to sustain a positive attitude at all times as you need.
What Can Be Controlled In Life?
To better understand the importance of positive attitude and willpower, it is interesting to take a moment, reflect and make yourself the following question:
About that I have real control in this world?
If you reflect with clarity and depth, will eventually conclude that, at best, the only thing over which you can have effective control is over yourself.
You have no real control over others, including children, husband or wife, employees, or anyone else in this world. Exert control by force is not, in fact, be in control.
Even when someone uses any moral authority or persuasive power to control others, that someone will have only a limited and temporary control over others. You also have no control over the nature’s events or on events that occur in life in general.
Then, with a realistic approach, you will end up concluding that only have the chance to control yourself. Still, to achieve the feat of this control, you have to devote to create and keep in mind, in your interior, ideas over which you reflected. These ideas must mirror what you really want for your own life.
The Power Of Reflection
When you find your way, when you realize clearly what you want for your own life, when you understand your reality and understand how life around you can help you to grow and express your full potential, then you begin to generate inside yourself the correct idea of what you really want. And when you realize what you want, it becomes easier to define the steps that must overcome in pursuit of goals. All this helps to create and develop a positive attitude and willpower inside you.
If you do not reflect, will go through life adrift, that is, will simply be led by ideas of others persons and your instincts, you will simply react to events and acting on impulse, without actually taking actions that are in accordance with the heart and with the best understanding of yourself and the world around you.
Unfortunately, many people can not even take a moment to reflect on his own life, even though it is necessary to find the path and have a life with more meaning and purpose.
Do not let this happen to you, use your willpower to reflect on life and what you really want, as this will help to sustain a positive attitude towards life.
Cycle of Positivity
With willpower and faith, you will reflect and this reflection will provide more and greater awareness. The increased awareness about yourself will help define what you want and know what your goals are.
With a path to follow as the result of reflection, the development of willpower gets huge boost and grow the faith and hope.
Willpower awakens the Faith; Faith gives us Hope; Hope promotes Willpower.
As you see, I have just described “CYCLE OF POSITIVITY”. This is a vicious cycle that you should want to your own life, if you really like yourself.
No doubt, things are really simple and you can achieve the success you want and deserve. But being simple is not the same as being easy. Determination and discipline are attributes of willpower and needed to create a positive attitude. These factors represent important psychological aspects in their journey.
Application in Coaching
Helping the client to create and maintain a positive attitude towards life is something clearly important for this client achieve what you want.
Also, knowing the importance and the power of positive attitude is just part of the process. We must put into practice the knowledge.
As coaches, I believe that we should always act with honesty about ourselves and others. So if we want our clients to have a positive attitude, it is very important that we have that same attitude in our own lives. Remember that “knowing the path is different than walking the path.”
From the moment we are living the reality of applying the positive attitude in our life, it’s easier to help others experiencing the same reality.
Some techniques that can be used in the coaching process to help the client to adopt a positive attitude are:
- encourage reading texts and books that underscore the importance and the power of positive attitude;
- do visualization exercises where the client can feel the effects of a positive attitude in different times of life;
- develop open and meaningful questions that lead the client to reflect and realize the benefits of a positive attitude in your life;
- assist the client in working with the subconscious to overcome limits and eliminate negative beliefs;
- help the client to promote a shift in perspective by understanding that it is he / she who chooses reactions to events that occur in life.
