Coaching Model: Make it REAL

2015/02/26

A Coaching Model Created by Lala Abdurahmanova
(Transformational Coach, AZERBAIJAN)

Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, some make it happen. Michael Jordan

My coaching model is based on my philosophy of life as a human and as a coach. I believe that everything is possible and all dreams are realistic. Coach helps the client to strive for the dream and to make it real. My model is correlated with my Power Tool called Real vs Unreal.

The coaching model describes the flow of the coaching process client goes through. The process is presented by four stages, and each stage is a description of letters of the acronym REAL.

This model can help every client who wants to transform both his private and business life, achieve new goals and change any aspect of life from tiny one to the global.

Make your dream and your goal REAL!

L– live, love and learn

R E A L

R- realize, reflect, review

This is the beginning of the coaching journey. Client requests the coach’s support and this step helps the client to realize what was the reason he applied to the coach, what are the topics and the issues of the agenda to be discussed with the coach. Client reflects on his own story, review his current situation  and the desired one.

At this stage client:

  • Shares the expectations from the coach and the coaching process
  • Realizes and set the agenda and coaching goals
  • Reflects on own story
  • Visualize the desired story

E- evaluate, encourage and enter

Coach helps the client to dive into the world of values and believes. Client looks inside at his motives and intent, evaluates the aspects under the surface  and understand how his goals are related to his true believes and have the motivation behind. Creating the atmosphere of trust and encouragement, coach helps the client to make a self-discovery, enter the deepest layers of values and reflect on it.

At this stage client:

  • Enter, discover and evaluate his values and believes
  • Evaluate the motivation for achieving the goal and making a change
  • Learn to encourage and to motivate himself

R E A L

A- act and acknowledge

Client transforms his vision into the actions. On this stage client has identified the true motives behind the goals and is ready to realize it. Coach helps the client to divide the big goals into the small “baby” steps that will lead to the desired future. Coach helps the client to acknowledge him/herself even for small progress and for each little win.

Coach’s support here is to hold the client’s hand and motivate him to move forward.

At this stage client:

  • Set the action plan
  • Start implementing the steps
  • Learns to acknowledge himself and his journey

R E A L

L- live, love and learn

Steps by step, client lives and experiences the change. Coach helps to learn living in the preset and enjoying every little transformation. Client lives and loves what he does and what he feels. The new stream of fresh air enters the life!

At this stage client:

  • Moving forward
  • Feels the satisfaction and enjoys his day
  • Loves the life!
  • Sees life as a learning process
