Coaching Model: The Achiever

2012/06/05

A Coaching Model Created by Achraf Rachad
(Team Coach, MOROCCO)

Achraf_Rachad_coaching_modelComing from a mindset that values action, I believe it’s actually action that makes the difference, massive actions, but since we don’t want to take random actions, this model is designed to take the client through a process to take the right actions, and learn from them.

Explore:

Where are we NOW? to take the time to explore the current situation, and take responsibility for it, this is a phase where I help the client build a high level of self-awareness, in order to  be aware of his own  values in life, even those, he had lost connection with.

Explore is also about checking truths and perceptions, our goal is not to label things, it’s rather to try to see them as they are, to help the client get to know himself, his strengths and weaknesses.

Focus:

What’s the most important thing we need to work on starting from NOW? Is it aligned with our core values? This is what’s going to be one of our highest priorities, what the coaching process will focus on, and hold the client accountable for it.

Plan:

To give deadlines to our dreams so they can become SMART Goals,  make the client  aware of the intent behind those goals, help him use his available time to schedule  and make a balanced life plan where the core 4 areas of the client’s life are presented .

Arm:

Identify the obstacles:
Internal External
Disempowering beliefs, underlying beliefs, automatic underlying commitments, Energy leaks… Environmental, negative people, future obstacles, what ifs…

From there we list the “arms” we can use to overcome those obstacles we create scenarios how things might go, and what we can do about them? Arm phase is about getting “realistic” without falling in the trap of pessimism or getting desperate.

Execute:

To take action, my job as a coach is to energize my clients, and support him, but also make sure he is enjoying the process of being in action.

Evaluate:

Check milestones, celebrate progress and learn from the mistakes, Replan if necessary. This is a phase where I acknowledge the client, but I also help me get feedback from the outcome of his actions, and what can be done to make it better.
