Global Training with Local Networks

icflogocolor_300x140All our coach training programs are accredited with the International Coach Federation (ICF). Coaching is a global profession and the ICF continues to be the most established and globally recognised peak body. Not only do they provide high standards and competencies for coaching and coach training, clients also want to know they are employing someone who has been through a rigorous training and accreditation process.

Within 24 hours of enrollment, we get you set up in our unique learnsite. This includes downloadable modules, live class schedules, assessment, student forum, learning resources and support. All contents of the learnsite are available to you for the period of your program membership.

Program Delivery
All learning is delivered via a blend of LIVE teleclasses, forum discussion and self reflection with many opportunities to coach, and be coached.   It's up to you how many or few classes they take each week.  The schedules have been timed to allow for self paced study, where the study schedule fits with your lifestyle and not the other way around. The learning process is as follows

1. Download and read the course module
2. Dial into a teleclass (facilitated by an ICA Trainer)
3. Post reflections on the forum

What support do you offer to help me get started?

Community Support is core to the way we do business. We truly care about our students and support you from the day you enrol right through to your graduation.  We appreciate that joining a coach training program is an investment of your time and money, and one you may have considered for a long time.  So, our team of support staff are dedicated to making sure you maximise your return on investment by creating a trouble free, learning rich and fulfilling experience. With staff located all around the world, we'll make sure you're never left hanging. Our student community has over 4000 students who participate daily in the private forums and have a choice of over 35 teleclasses a week in two different languages. It keeps us busy but we love to connect with our community and many of our graduates stay connected long after they graduate.  This speaks volumes to camaraderie and support you can expect. The graduate yearbooks are full of student memorable moments all of which will testify to the positive, supporting and friendly global culture of ICA.  We look forward to answering any question you may have on becoming a coach, coach training or our school.

In addition to joining the wider ICA community, every new student is also connected with their own private study group.  As a member of this small and informal group (generally 5 to 20 students) you will check in weekly via skype, email or the forum for the first couple of months of your study. Your group will have it's own dedicated member of the support team, who will make sure you have everything needed to get up and running.

Your study group will guide you and hold you accountable

  • Mapping out a study timetable that fits with your life and work commitments (it's different for everyone)
  • Finding your way around the learnsite (where to find the class schedule, how to post in the forum, where to find your assessment requirements)
  • Helping you to find your first peer coach
  • Connecting you with the support team and structures
  • Introducing you to your faculty

What would a regular study week look like?

It's different for everyone because we all have our own family and work schedules that we need to work around.  For someone wanting to fast track their studies and complete in 6 to 9 months they would need to take 2 to 3 classes a week.  Those wanting to take things a bit slower, and use up their full 18 months would only need to take 1 - 2 classes a week.

EXAMPLE WEEKLY SCHEDULE (based on fast track option)

  • Live Teleclasses (3 hours per week)

    Monday @ 8pm: Course Labs
    Saturday @ 10am: Mentor Coaching
    Saturday @ 11am: Core Curriculum

  • Self Study (30 mins each week)

This includes connecting with your peers in the forum (reading and commenting on portfolios, finding a peer coach or offering to be a peer client) or preparing your course outcomes.

  • Peer Coaching (30 mins)

Either be the coach or be the client to make up your peer coaching hours.

* And of course this is flexible.  It might be that one week you only do 1 class, and then 4 the next week.  Or, you might do all your self study in one block at the end of the month instead of each week.

** For those wanting to self pace, the hours per week shown above would be reduced by half

What if things change and I need to take a break from my studies?

Most of the students in our program have ongoing family or work commitments that influence the time they set aside for study. We totally  understand that and for this reason our programs are flexible and designed so that you create the study schedule that fits with your lifestyle and not the other way around.  If for some reason you find you need to take a break from your studies, then we have an enrollment variation policy where you can stop the clock on your studies for up to 6 months.
