Underlying beliefs are the core beliefs, values, thoughts and judgements we hold about ourselves and others. They are formed over time, from the very minute we are born. Some are passed onto us by family, some come from our community and some from our experiences in life.

Underlying beliefs are different from normal everyday beliefs in that they sit under the surface and we are often not aware of them. They can be both positive and negative, and influence our behaviour on a daily basis. As coaches we work with clients to become more aware of their underlying beliefs, and therefore more able to make choices and decisions that are conscious and empowering.
