Interview of Mathilde Poirieux: Leadership and Career Transition Coach

2022/04/25

Mathilde Poirieux Career Transition Claire Braunwald_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Claire Braunwald
Change Coach, HONG KONG

I was fortunate enough to cross Mathilde Poirieux’s path through the ICF Hong Kong Chapter when I first began my coaching career. Mathilde is the President of the ICF Hong Kong Chapter and a PCC Senior Executive Coach and Coach Supervisor. I recall Mathilde’s enthusiasm and readiness to share her passion for coaching and understanding of the coaching process with newcomers like myself who had a lot of questions, including how to get started. Her encouragement and support helped me achieve clarity on my path and the route I should follow at a pivotal point in my career and life, and it had a great and long-lasting impact on me. Fast forward three years to the building of my ICA portfolio, and I’ve learned a lot.

Coaching and Sahaja Yoga Meditation

Sahaja Yoga Meditation Monica Le Crom_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Monica Le Crom
Transformational Coach, NETHERLANDS

Sahaja Yoga Meditation can benefit both coaches and clients in a variety of ways. Not only do we align with our goals from the position of our higher self through continuous practice, but by staying in touch with our intuition, we also become more creative. A calmer mind means less cognitive load and more focus, which allows us to make better judgments and work with more purpose, as well as reduce irritability and improve our relationships. We become more resilient as a result of our improved ability to deal with uncertainty. This change, on the other hand, takes time and can be hastened through the coaching process, as well as the accountability, frameworks, and aligned plans we work on during the session.

Can Online Marriage Coaching Be an Effective Alternative to In-Person Marriage Coaching?

2022/04/20

Marriage Coaching Marcel Sanchez_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Marcel Sanchez
Marriage Coach, UNITED STATES

Both marriage coaching and marriage therapy have evolved over time on the Internet. Using video-based technologies, these two fields flourished during the heyday of Covid-19. Despite the fact that certain limits have been lifted—and new ones have been imposed—video-based technologies continue to fill a critical need by assisting individuals and couples in dealing with mental health concerns, marriage problems, and other interpersonal issues. The impact of Covid-19 and the shift toward more video-based coaching methods have also been seen in the field of coaching, which includes, at the very least, coach certification training, group coaching, and one-on-one coaching. Coaches have gone through a massive technological revolution, creating unparalleled scalability prospects.

The Underdogs of Coaching: Empathy and Acknowledgement

2022/04/11

Underdogs Lydia Cloos_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Lydia Cloos
Life Coach, COSTA RICA

This paper talks about two coaching underdogs: Empathy and Acknowledgement. We all know they’re covered in the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) PCC Markers, so they must be significant – so why focus on something we already know is important? The explanation is as straightforward as it gets: my personal coaching experience has taught me how frequently empathy and acknowledgment are neglected during the coaching process. And perhaps you’ll be able to tell as you read. The Cambridge dictionary defines an underdog as “the lesser of two rivals, or anybody who is not expected to win a competition.”

The Benefits of Doing Coaching and Therapy

2022/04/08

Coaching and Therapy Michelle Wiebach_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Michelle Wiebach
Transformational Coach, UNITED STATES

Coaching and therapy complement each other. Past events, triggers, and traumas are addressed in therapy. It’s about healing and is set in the past. Coaching entails moving ahead. What are your long-term goals and how are you starting to achieve them now? From personal experience, I know that the two work well together. I’ve seen myself change as a result of my life coaching experience. I am a shy, timid person with a lot of self-limiting beliefs. In therapy, I was able to unearth “shoulds” and scripts that I had believed I had to follow and be stuck in. I discovered that I was not living in my truth through coaching. I discovered where those toxic tendencies came from and how to question my history through therapy.

From Silver Linings to Post-pandemic Superpowers

2022/04/07

Silver Linings Jonathon Regan_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Jonathon Regan
Education Coach, NETHERLANDS

This paper is a reflection on my experience dealing with the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic. It all started with my efforts to make a positive difference in my town, where unsung heroes fought in chaos. By narrating the narrative, I intend to demonstrate how I became interested in coaching and how a year of study has equipped me with the abilities to contribute more effectively. I’d also like to recognize my tribe’s continuous prosperity. From silver linings to post-pandemic superpowers, there’s a lot to think about.

Positivity or Negativity? But Wait…What About Neutrality!

2022/04/06

Negativity, Positivity, Neutrality Cauvery Bhalla._Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Cauvery Bhalla
Transformational Coach, INDIA

In this paper negativity, positivity, and neutrality, I’d like to focus on how to use these three modes in a healthy way, as well as the repercussions of doing so in a coaching session. As a coach, I believe that each of the three qualities of positivity, negativity, and neutrality plays an important role. My negativity, positivity, and neutrality ratios are 1: 3: 15. While there is no data to back this up, I believe that emphasizing neutrality is critical for both the coach and the coachee to form a successful collaboration.

Evolving Talent Management Tactics: Coaching for Leader Development and Organizational Change Agility

Talent Management Kathryn (Katie) Hoff_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Kathryn (Katie) Hoff
Career Coach, UNITED STATES

In an organization, talent management aims to connect hiring, development, performance, and rewards across the employee experience’s life cycle in order to meet the company’s strategic goals (Lawler, 2019). All talent management techniques are connected, aligned, and measured via the lens of competencies (DDI, 2020). Coaching as a competency has transferable skill sets, toolsets, and mindsets that can be used in other, more general leadership qualities.

Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACC)

2022/03/31

Acceptance and Commitment Meaghan Sullivan_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Meaghan Sullivan
Performance Coach, UNITED STATES

Acceptance and commitment coaching (ACC) is derived from acceptance and commitment treatment (ACT), which is pronounced similarly to the word “act.” ACT is part of the third wave of behavioral therapy, following the first wave of traditional behavioral therapy and the second wave of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Hayes et al., 2006). Unlike traditional behavioral therapy, which focuses solely on changing behaviors and largely ignores the role that thoughts play in those behaviors, or cognitive behavioral therapy, which aims to change a person’s thoughts and behaviors, ACT focuses on how we relate to our thoughts without attempting to change them, and on taking meaningful actions despite the presence of those thoughts (Hayes et al., 2013).
