Pursuing Happiness Through Hardship

Pursuing Happiness Ann-Marie Purvis_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Ann-Marie Purvis
Executive Coach, SWITZERLAND

This paper provides an overview of the concept of achieving happiness as well as a method for the coach and coachee to understand and approach this extremely complex subject. It examines how the concept of happiness has been studied as well as the findings of thought leaders in the field. “There are only two types of people who do not feel painful emotions. The first are psychopaths, and the second are dead. There is a misunderstanding that living a happy life entails being happy all of the time. Learning to accept, and even embrace, painful emotions is an important part of living a happy life, and the study of painful emotions is an important part of the field of Happiness Studies,” according to Tal Ben-Shahar[i].

Commitment vs. Choice

Commitment vs. Choice Mauro Locarnini_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Mauro Locarnini
Executive Coach, SWITZERLAND

There is always a time in life, and knowing when to allow one perspective or another to drive our actions seems to be the key to keeping us going. Changing perspectives isn’t easy, but it’s necessary for growth and development, and that’s what coaching is all about. Consequently, I thought it would be interesting to examine these two seemingly opposing perspectives (Commitment vs. Choice) and investigate when each of them might be useful in our lives, how to shift from one to the other, and, most importantly, how to leverage them.

Feeling Overwhelmed vs. Being Focused

Feeling Overwhelmed vs. Being Focused Ann-Marie Purvis_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Ann-Marie Purvis
Executive Coach, SWITZERLAND

The “Feeling Overwhelmed vs. Being Focused” power tool described here can be used to address the feeling of being overwhelmed in the workplace, but can also be used outside of work. Feeling overwhelmed is a natural human emotion, but it can make it difficult to focus on where you started and then decide to take effective action. Our work lives have become increasingly demanding, presenting us with increasingly complex challenges at an almost constant pace. When you factor in personal or family obligations, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.

Using GROW Model and Situational Leadership Models for Executive Clients in Global Companies

GROW Executive Coaching Model Ann-Marie Purvis

A Coaching Model By Ann-Marie Purvis
Executive Coach, SWITZERLAND

The upward managing of their Directors and how the Executive would desire to be managed and supported are topics that are frequently brought up by Executive Clients, so I have applied the GROW model and Situation Leadership Model to them in my Coaching Model essay. Global company executives are under a lot of strain, and it is a common problem that their leaders haven’t changed their leadership style to reflect the new level of ability and confidence of the executive. The Executives are stressed and worried about this because they frequently believe it harms their relationship with their Leader, their confidence, and their own brand inside the firm.

Fear vs. Trust

Fear vs. Trust Tatiana Mitroi Coaching Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Tatiana Mitroi
Personal Coach, SWITZERLAND

Fear is a complex feeling that can arise from a variety of situations, including real-world hazards, memories of scary past events, or imagined scenarios/threats. Although trust is difficult to explain, we can feel and recognize when it is gone or lost. When this happens, our energy and engagement levels drop, and we may feel anxious, distrustful, avoidant, uncertain, or insecure. To help our clients transition from fear vs. trust, we must first help them recognize that fear is present and, where applicable, that it is driving their actions.

Pressure and Anxiety Tatiana Mitroi_Coaching_Case_Study

Coaching Case Study By Tatiana Mitroi
Personal Coach, SWITZERLAND

Miranda reached out to me after hearing from her friends that they had a “great coaching experience” in just one session. She didn’t know much about coaching or how it could benefit her, but she had heard that it had helped some of her friends. Her friends didn’t say much about their coaching experience aside from the fact that it was beneficial to them. They suggested she try coaching after hearing her talk about the various Pressure and Anxiety challenges she faced.

Focusing on Fear vs. Trust Gila Kropf_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Gila Kropf
Life Coach, SWITZERLAND

The Focusing on Fear vs. Trust power tools described in this project can be used for the specific purpose of fear flying, but also for any type of fear. Starting with Anna’s story, the coaching steps are specified and the use of the power tools described. Fear is a natural, powerful, primitive human emotion. It involves a universal biochemical response as well as a high individual emotional response. Fear alerts you to the presence of danger or the threat of harm, whether that danger is physical or psychological. Some fears may exist due to past trauma and experiences, but many others are due to overestimation of risk and a lack of trust and confidence.

“Fearlessflight Gila Kropf_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Gila Kropf
Life Coach, SWITZERLAND

Interviewing Captain Ron from “FearlessFlight” has been a lovely experience for me. Exceptional attention to his coaching projects by Captain Ron. The story of Ron is fascinating. Inspiring is his inspiring career as a professional pilot who has been involved in Safety Management Systems with an emphasis on human factors, as well as the way he linked this expertise to coaching. It demonstrates that you can always find a way to use your talents and skills to serve others, regardless of your career or where you live. The method used by Captain Ron is a combination of coaching and consultation.
