Efficiency vs. Effectiveness

Efficiency vs. Effectiveness David Peterson_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By David Peterson
Optimization Coach, CANADA

Humans have a tremendous desire to change the world, which motivates us to take action to make our lives better. Our desire to succeed drives us to work hard in our personal and professional lives. This motivation also pushes us to do actions that add the most value and inspires us to enhance what we’ve already accomplished. Similar to the way of thinking, efficiency vs. effectiveness are antithetical. Both have the ability to transform a person or an organization, but while effectiveness takes a holistic approach to growth and development, efficiency is more concerned with reduction.

Creating Empowering Opportunities in Optimization Projects Through Coaching

Optimization Projects David Peterson_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By David Peterson
Optimization Coach, CANADA

When organizations undergo optimization projects, it creates a fearful and stressful environment for both employees and employers. Most businesses embark on optimization projects that prioritize efficiency over effectiveness. Many of those projects have business cases in which the immediate success of cutting costs and increasing profitability reduces the number of FTE (Full Time Equivalent) employees. Employees impacted by these projects frequently believe that their employers have no heart in these situations and are only concerned with the dollars saved rather than the value they bring. Organizational executives believe their hands are tied and thus do little to change that perception. They want a good outcome, but the perspectives, strategies, and mindsets required to support this transition must be developed.

Coaching for Workplace Resilience

Resilience Anja Haman_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Anja Haman
Performance Coach, CANADA

Resilience may be developed, and coaching can help people become more aware of their responses to adversity and develop the skills they need to cope with adversity at work. Individuals who develop a diverse range of tools over time are more robust in a variety of situations. Coaching can also help the person by ensuring that their environment is controlled in a way that allows them to be resilient: ensuring that they have a social support system, time to recharge, and a strong inner compass with clear purpose and values. Because context matters, the potential of teams and organizations to enhance individual resilience should be further explored.

Approval vs. Acceptance

Approval vs. Acceptance Anja Haman_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Anja Haman
Performance Coach, CANADA

Many great leaders showed self-acceptance by challenging established standards and believing in their right to do so. As expectations and powers move and the world changes, seeking external acceptance can lead to worry, anxiety, and guilt. Because new expectations and standards can be questioned and analyzed without constituting a personal threat, acceptance of oneself provides the door to curiosity, empathy, and progress. People can live truly and be their best selves when they move from seeking Approval vs. Acceptance. Coaches can help their clients transition from seeking external approval to self-acceptance, helping them become more aware of their existing beliefs and gradually change their habits of thinking, feeling, and explaining. Complementing this work with a strong social support network and a solid inner compass can help build a solid foundation.

The Journey to Resilience

Journey to Resilience Coaching Model Resilience Anja Haman

A Coaching Model By Anja Haman
Performance Coach, CANADA

Improving our lives is a lifelong process that involves expanding our inner world while reacting to the external environment. The ability to weather storms, adjust when we need to, and pace through life’s ebbs and flows is a part of the journey to resilience. Each obstacle or opportunity is a step along that route, and we get to choose how we respond, grow, and participate. Coaching begins at this point when we wish to accomplish something difficult. We must determine where we are going and stick to that path, using the right tools for the current issues before us, and taking the time to fuel them. We must cultivate mental resilience to stay on track despite diversions, changes, and uncertainty. Just like trekking, the more we travel, the more tools we learn to use, and the more confident we become in our abilities in every situation.

True-Self vs. False-Self Marc Blais_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Marc Blais
Leadership Coach, CANADA

Coaching fosters an environment in which people are free to speak the truth, even if it has never been uttered or realized before. Taking steps to reveal your true self is a process of self-awareness and challenging beliefs through a trusting relationship with a coach to understand who you are and how you want to present yourself in the world. By having the courage to be who you are, you can free yourself from your false self. The art of coaching creates a safe environment for people to be vulnerable and discover their authentic True-Self vs. False-Self.

True Self Leadership Coaching Model Marc Blais

Leadership Coach, CANADA

Understanding who you are at your core (True Self) is a lifelong journey. Life events and circumstances are seeds that you must cultivate into the person you were born to be. By all means, you are not supposed to do this alone; it is only through your collaboration that you may see your true self. The most effective way to increase reflection, awareness, and deliberate living is to work with a coach. This relationship begins with the establishment of a vision, which is later realized through modest, actionable steps devised by you.

Self-Love vs. Self-Destruction

Self-Love vs. Self-Destruction Alana Moor Coaching Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Alana Moor
Mindset Coach, CANADA

We frequently wait for an external influence or occurrence to create the ideal setting for us to take action toward the improvements we desire. The belief is that the right environment will act as a catalyst for people to make the decision to change. The reality is that no one is coming, and you will find yourself wherever you go. Change is brought about by our own actions, not by the situation in which we find ourselves. It takes work and effort to attain both self-love vs. self-destruction. We’ve done more of one than the other, making it feel “easier” to achieve.
