Anxious vs. Energized

Anxious vs. Energized Maya Dreifus_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Maya Dreifus
Career Coach, UNITED STATES

Anyone can recollect a period when they were worried. Perhaps, it was before an unpleasant work talk with a coworker. Anxiety affects me in the form of unpleasant nerves, a sense of dread, a pit in my stomach, and a ticker tape that won’t stop playing. What if friends joined you on your nightly stroll, bringing joy, laughter, and sounds to the otherwise silent street? Suddenly, there are choices, and possibly even a strategy for moving forward. And then, one starts to feel energized. The goal of the Anxious vs. Energized power tool is to assist clients who feel weak and lost in changing their perspective and reacting from a place of power, action, and enthusiasm.

Coaching Books Debbie Wissel_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Debbie Wissel
Career Coach, UNITED STATES

The art of coaching is based on a liberal arts perspective, which incorporates and integrates many diverse disciplines such as psychology, human behavior, anthropology, sociology, biology, neuroscience, and others. For me, being a coach requires a commitment to being a lifelong learner and listener in order to bring out the best in others. In my quest to become a better coach, I’ve read and continue to study numerous coaching books that have shaped my approach and expanded my understanding of the components of good coaching. This article outlines three fundamental works on coaching topics that recur in my own coaching: Habits and Behaviors, Life Design, and Fulfillment.

Zoom Out Zoom In

A Coaching Model By Debbie Wissel
Career Coach, UNITED STATES

My high school-aged sister gave me some wise advice when I was in middle school, which served as inspiration for this coaching concept. ‘This stuff doesn’t important, just try to be like a bird… soar beyond everything’ Katie added. ‘See the forest among the trees,’ her bird simile paid homage to many others. I update my Coaching Model with a 2020 twist, using a soaring bird as inspiration. The idea for soaring above an issue will be called in this case, ‘Zooming Out,’ given we are all on Zoom calls during COVID. In the rest of the article, I’ll explain my ‘Zoom Out Zoom In’ Coaching model, which is the source of my coaching inspiration.

As an HR professional, I’ve come across a few psychometric assessment tools that are routinely used in leadership and succession planning to uncover talents and assess strengths and areas of improvement. In this study article, I’ll describe my own experience with the Wheel of Life coaching tool from the standpoint of a client. I hope that my fellow coaches who are interested in learning more about the Wheel of Life and want to use it in their coaching will find this paper fascinating to read.

Control vs. Influence

Control vs. Influence Sing Lee Lim_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Sing Lee Lim
Career Coach, SINGAPORE

Coaching is most effective when a coach assists his or her client in recognizing what he or she truly desires, often known as self-awareness. Self-awareness refers to internal attention to one’s inner self. This idea is a really effective method for learning and growing. We frequently wonder why we have tried so hard yet never succeeded. It’s possible that the explanation is that we didn’t realize what we really wanted and hence didn’t work in the appropriate way. Control vs. Influence is a new evaluation method in coaching to help discover the true aims to pursue personal victories.

ASPIRE

ASPIRE Career Coaching Model Sing Lee Lim

A Coaching Model By Sing Lee Lim
Career Coach, SINGAPORE

As an HR professional, I’ve helped a lot of people when they’re facing issues or making career decisions. In conversations like this, I have come to the conclusion that discussing job choices is entirely a personal decision that individuals have to make. Consequently, I want to perfect my professional coaching abilities so that I can lead a career coaching monologue that helps others learn more about themselves and evolve into the person they’ve always wanted to be. Using the ASPIRE model, I always partner with my clients in career-related talks to clarify or explore their career interests or ambitions for their next steps. This approach is especially valuable for people who are at a crossroads in their careers, whether it’s because of a childhood desire or because of the constantly changing corporate climate.

Curiosity vs. Perfectionism

Curiosity vs. Perfectionism Ute Hauck_Coaching_Tool

A Coaching Power Tool By Ute Hauck
Career Coach, AUSTRALIA

When I first started thinking about a power tool that could transform an individual to perform daily activities or deal with new difficulties, I was excited about the prospect of developing a way to turn perfectionism into curiosity. Unfortunately, the excitement didn’t last long. As a perfectionist – or at least as someone who regularly receives comments like mine – this activity quickly loses its appeal. Creating this Curiosity vs. Perfectionism power tool will assist me in overcoming similar constraints in the future, as well as the coach who values curiosity and the thrill of discovery over perfection.

The STRETCH Coaching Model

STRETCH Coaching Model Ute Hauck

A Coaching Model By Ute Hauck
Career Coach, AUSTRALIA

The STRETCH model aids a client in forming a secure, client-centered relationship with their coach. An open, non-judgmental approach builds a trusting relationship by allowing clients to openly express whatever is important to them in their current situation without fear of being criticized. It also enables ‘client development’ by broadening their perspectives beyond trained thinking and/or decision-making habits. Each stage of the program represents an important step towards a long-term solution.

Evolving Talent Management Tactics: Coaching for Leader Development and Organizational Change Agility

Talent Management Kathryn (Katie) Hoff_Coaching_Research_Paper

A Research Paper By Kathryn (Katie) Hoff
Career Coach, UNITED STATES

In an organization, talent management aims to connect hiring, development, performance, and rewards across the employee experience’s life cycle in order to meet the company’s strategic goals (Lawler, 2019). All talent management techniques are connected, aligned, and measured via the lens of competencies (DDI, 2020). Coaching as a competency has transferable skill sets, toolsets, and mindsets that can be used in other, more general leadership qualities.
