Research Paper: Forgiveness and its Impact on us

2016/08/03

The definition of “forgive” in the dictionary:

  1.  to stop feeling anger toward (someone who has done something wrong): to stop blaming (someone)
  2.  to stop feeling anger about (something): to forgive someone for (something wrong)
  3.  to stop requiring payment of (money that is owned)

Forgiveness is considered one of the most wonderful things a person can do to himself, it’s a gift that anyone can give it to his self, we see that the definition tells us much meaning for the word “forgive”, it’s a feeling that we stop when someone hurts us and make.

Sometimes you just have to turn the page to realized There’s more to your book of life than the page you are Stuck on. Stop being of afraid to move on. Close this Chapter of hurt, and never re-read it it’s time to get What your life deserve, don’t try to fix what’s been Broken on your past, let your future create something better. Trent Shelton

When we live on the actions of the past and hold the anger, guilt, bitterness, worry, fear, resentment……all the negative feelings whatever we called it. Moreover, all of these feelings are held back on us, and it has a great impact on our health, and there is a study that argues: 90% of the diseases are caused by anger which is basically caused by holding a grudge and not forgiving others,  there is a study from mayo clinic that demonstrates the effect of anger and pain on our health, in addition, the negativity bring down your immune system.

The feeling of anger, causes the person to live unhappy without hope, and his anger dominates him, and it looks like the person, is putting inside him the heaviest thing he can carry, yes you carry a “grudge” and sadly you live your whole life carrying a grudge inside you, as well as anger, we can also demonstrate it like a prisoner who is prison is his self inside his pain. We can conclude that your pain is dominating you unconsciously.

Therefore, everyone should think about himself and feel free, forgiveness doesn’t excuse the behavior however it prevents this behavior to destroy your life and that does not mean that you accepted what the other person did for you, however, forgiveness is the act of releasing yourself from the anger and the pain, as well as it’s like making a peace with your inside pain and you are the one he makes this decision and makes this choice.

If you forgive others, you do it not for the sake of others; that they deserve forgiveness; however you do it for your own sake and benefit, for leaving in peace. Furthermore, at this step, we should not forget, our self maybe the person who needs to forgive is our selves, so we have to be honest with ourselves,  that we really decide to forgive.

Forgiveness is not one thing you can do, and then stop it you should have as a lifestyle to live free, so this means it’s continuous with every pain or mistake. In addition, any person can do it and it’s not easy and requires practice, so you can do it again and again from your heart and you have to make a choice which life you want to live. You want to live as a prisoner or as a free person?

What is the impact of forgiveness on us?

  1. Be a happy person and look for life from a grateful heart.
  2. Improve your health and become a healthy person and, protect yourself from stress and pressure.
  3. Keep your relationship and sustainable and healthier.
  4. Higher self-esteem.

Forgiveness is the act of compassion, empathy, and kindness with ourselves and with other people, we care about them and our relationships so when you forgive you don’t change the past but you improve your present and future.

So you deserve to live your freedom without any barriers because you’re the one who deserves it.

We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let them soften us, and make us kinder. You always have a choice. Dalai lama
