So as a coach it’s very important to believe in the client who is currently in the valley, as this belief the coach has will trigger a self belief for the client that he or she can make it back up to the peak.
Most of the people, clients don’t or may not understand the importance of Valleys as they are used to being or rather trained to be on the Peaks, this is a process which starts from very early in the life – you need to come first in the class, you need to be grow fast as a professional, earn a lot, get promoted soon etc. And due to this training when they are in the Valleys – They are judging themselves and so are others judging them as failed. This happens when one is forced into a Valley, being there is not of their choosing. But with awareness comes the choice. The choice of when do I want to get back into the valley to explore a new peak.
This is where your coaching models come is important, this is where the power tools are important. Each coach may have a different approach to help and support the clients make the shift or help them get to a desired state. But as a coach it’s also important to explain the importance of Valleys and Peaks. And also generate the awareness in the clients that – If they make a conscious choice of being in the valleys now and then they are giving themselves a Choice of being on new peaks… hence creating a purposeful and meaningful life for themselves and the people in their life’s – Family, Friends, Colleagues, etc.
Method’s a coach can use for generating this self awareness in the clients

Peaks and Valleys in the journey of life –
For the coaches to ponder –
Think about the journey of life – A baby is born, goes on to being a toddler, adolescent, teenager, your adult, adult, mid age, early old age, old age and thendies.
- What do you see and learn from the life cycle or the journey of life?
- Where are the valleys in the journey of life?
- Where are the peaks in the journey of life?
- When is the person living as a gatherer?
- When is the person living as a giver?
- When is a person exploring and learning?
- When is the person teaching and sharing?
Point of view
Life begins in the valley. You learn, explore, discover, develop and get on to the peak and this process continues up to a certain time in life, up to a certain age. You become parents and you now start sharing YOUR learning’s, beliefs, values, fears, definitions and understandings with your child and in a way you are teaching your child to live like YOU. Your children have their children and you as grandparents and your children and parents are teaching your grandchildren and their children to LIVE LIKE YOU. This cycle may be EXCELLENT if there has been COMMITMENT, REFLECTIONS, EVOLUTION, ACTIONs (RIGHT), TRANSFORMATIONs, ELEVATION’s in your life and the same way of life is followed by your children and then is taught to your grandchildren, however this is not the case mostly – Most of us live a life without purpose or continue to live the way we are taught to live without knowing that we have the CHOICE to TRANSFORM. That’s where WE as a COACH play a very important role.
