A Coaching Model Created by Sahra Benseghir
(Career Coach, SWITZERLAND)

If you are missing the meaning or the purpose at your workplace, where you need to start with is to shift your perspective, in other words, to change your point of VIEW.

Career Coaching Model Sahra Benseghir

A masterful coach is a leader who by nature is a vision builder and value shaper, not just a technician who manages people to reach their goals and plans through tips and techniques. To be able to do this requires that the coach discover his or her humanness and humanity while being a clearing for others to do the same. Robert Hargrove

Nowadays, we can observe a phenomenon that is affecting more and more co-workers in corporations or other types of enterprises, which is what we call a “Brown-out” or being disengaged due to a loss of sensation. Most of the time, it can start by feeling stuck in a toxic or inappropriate work environment or sometimes by being assigned under-qualified or purposeless tasks. And without any change or re-adjustment, this leads eventually them to feel unmotivated, disengaged, and unhappy. This shows afterward as an obvious effect on their work performance.  In worst cases, they feel obliged to act against their values or to accept being mistreated by colleagues or managers, which has a slow but deep impact on their self-esteem.  What keeps them in the toxic spiral of accepting what is unacceptable is the fear of losing their job or the illusion of being lucky to be in their shoes. But actually, they never feel accomplished or fulfilled by their job. They’re missing the joy and ultimately, they are missing the sense, even the meaning or purpose of their job

The VIEW coaching model is for those people who lost that sense of engagement and motivation at work and is meant to enable them to shift their view to take again ownership of their career/situation or “their fate”… to ultimately change it.

V stands for

Vision

Because everything starts with a vision. It needs to be defined by a clear, personalized, and bright picture that represents the ultimate goal. The vision is often associated with positive feelings such as happiness, fulfillment, excitement, or self-confidence which are crucial to initiating the journey of changing and moving forward.

Visibility

This helps the clients to trigger the first step they need to take. Visibility means to have an overview of where they need to go in their journey. This implies the fact of “getting out from their comfort zone” which would require keeping the energy to overcome feeling uncomfortable. Most of the time, this feeling of discomfort comes from fears based on underlying beliefs or negative experiences.

I stand for

Identification and Identity

Identifying and being aware of their unique strengths and values will help to reveal their unique Identity and eventually give them the power to overcome the potential obstacles in their journey of finding a purpose at work. Through an in-depth identification of what makes them unique (their DNA), they will connect with their authentic personality and know what they need as a Unique individual and not trying to be anyone else… because accepting and living their unique authenticity will make them happier.

E stands for

Enabler

The awareness will allow them to re-connect with their true-self and open to a large panel of possibilities that they probably forgot or perhaps even didn’t think of. This will give them the power they need and enable them to start making the change they need. This power will be crucial when they will switch from comfort to discomfort, to keep them energized, and to overcome negative feelings to carry on the journey. The power coming from the awareness of self-vision, strengths, and values is the key to own their reality again.

Elevate

Elevating their dreams to reality is making the vision being the reality.

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world. Joel A. Barker

W stands for

Wings

They are representing the courage needed to live the journey until accomplishment and fulfillment. When the shift happens, the energy required is bringing to a smooth and natural transformation through the ways defined by the client.

Ways

They are established by the client, together with the partnership of the coach, and based on SMART goals which are essential to help and transform their dreams into reality. As they will unlock their unique ways to live their actions, by defining and choosing ways to act, they will start accomplishing and celebrating little steps which will create the experience of recuperating their career and ultimately reinforce the feeling of ownership.
