Coaching Model: P3 GROWTHS

2013/12/23

A Coaching Model Created by Pujitha Silva
(Life Coaching, AUSTRALIA)

(P3-G-R-O-W-T-H-S)

The P3-G-R-O-W-T-H-S model is the coaching process to help a person achieve their goals through a 3 stage process. The P3-G-R-O-W-T-H-S model encompassing 3 stages is summarized as follows

P3-G-R-O-W-T-H-S

Pujitha_Silva_coachingmodel

Presence – (HOW ARE YOU?)- Making Connection Purpose – (WHAT DO YOU WANT?) –Shaping Direction

  • Goal:

What do you want?- finding out what the person wants to achieve

  • Reality:

Where are you currently at?- reflecting where the person is at/recalling previous lessons

  • Obstacles:

What is holding you back?- recognizing obstructions to progress

Partnership -(HOW WILL WE GET THERE?)- Taking Action

  • Winning Steps:

What specific actions will help u win? – Committing to specific actions steps

  • Teaching moment:

What do you need to know?- New knowledge needed

  • Help needed:

What help do you need? –Other resources needed

Summary:

What have you learnt?/What will you do ‘differently’?/ Where else can you apply this lesson in your life?- Summarise insights gained, action steps committing to and lessons learnt

The model works in 3 stages with each P symbolising an essential stage in the overall G-R-O-W-T-H process. It is similar to the natural growth that takes place in a tree to produce fruit, as a consequence of a 3 stage process involving given by

Anchoring in Presence-> Establishing Clear Purpose -> Fruition through Partnership towards fullness and fulfillment, one decision at a time

The effectiveness of each coaching session is seen in how the coach is able to maximise the engagement of the coachee through each of these stages leading to a state of ‘resonance’ by creating the right environment. Resonance is maximising the energies of the coachee, coach and any third party involved and focussing them towards the most energy/resource effective outcome during a coaching session.
