A Coaching Model Created by Nadejda Anguelova

For as long as I can remember I have been mesmerized by the sea. It gives me peace and content, restores my mind and my body. It is only natural that one of my passions in life – surfing, is related to the sea. Surfing and the sea gave me so much in my life – the first day I tried it, I have fallen off the board more than 30 times. Every time I got up, picked up my board, and went back in the water. Every time my coach was supporting me, nudging me to understand what is going on with me, with the waves, and my relationship with the sea. After every fall I knew what I wanted to do differently and tried it. I would sit on the board, waiting for that next wave, feeling fear and determination at the same time. For me, every wave brings a new experience, new learning, liberates me from my fears, and solidifies my relationship with the sea, with my own life. Every wave is like a dream I have achieved, and every wave makes me look further and try new things, reach new dreams. It was there and then when I realized I would like to facilitate this experience for others to find and see themselves and achieve their dreams.
The WAVE Coaching model is built around uncovering client’s true selves and raising their awareness to see who they are with all their wants and needs.
In the center of the wave is You – you bring your unique identity and life experiences. You are the expert of your own life and you determine what to happen and which direction to take. I am here only to support you in this journey by shining a light on blind spots.
In this initial stage, it is all about understanding who you are: What is important for you? What are your expectations? What are your dreams, desires, challenges, dilemmas, situations to solve? It is all about seeing the present and sketching the future.
Aim and Align
It is in our nature to always strive for something different, something better, something more and we all have different goals. We will work together to clarify your goals and create your personal vision. This will set the direction towards the change you aim at:
- What do you want to achieve?
- What difference will it make in your life?
- What is the motivation behind this goal?
In this stage, we will also explore your goals and how they are aligned with your values. Values form the core of who we are and the more clarity we have about them, the more on purpose we feel. When your goals are aligned with your values, everything becomes easier – making choices, noticing obstacles, and ultimately achieving the goals.

Venture into the unknown
Here you will explore your way of thinking – beliefs, perceptions, assumptions, emotions, or fears. You will uncover what are the barriers which prevent you from achieving your goals as the objective of this stage is to reach a shift in the perspective of the situation at hand as the first step to a long-term change.

- What do you need to permit yourself to do?
- How does that serve you?
- What is possible?
You have already reached new awareness about your situation and yourself in the previous stage, now it is time to plan for the future. Here you will explore what are the possible strategies and actions for forwarding movement, what you want to consider for these next steps to support the achievement of your goals, and are aligned with your vision. You are the one, who will define how and when to create accountability for yourself.
