Coaching Model: The Passport

2019/12/16

A Coaching Model Created by Lashley Pulsipher
(Leadership Coach, DUBAI)

Life is a journey

It is often said that life is a journey and to live well is to find joy in that journey, including all its twists & turns and ups & downs.

Becoming a savvy traveller on your own personal journey means being able to move freely through your life – unfettered by unnecessary baggage or artificial borders, and to be more present every step of the way.

Coaching opens the door to smooth travels by giving you the awareness and tools you need to be more engaged with your journey.

The Passport Coaching Model

A passport is an official travel document that certifies the identity of its holder primarily for the purpose of travel across borders.

Using The Passport Coaching Model we will explore:

  • Where do you come from
  • Where have you been
  • Where are you now
  • Where would you like to go
  • Moving through your life like a savvy traveller

Where do you come from?

During our first session we will explore your origin story:

  • What shaped you?
  • Where did you start the journey that led you to where you are now?
  • How do you answer the question “Where are you from?”

Understanding your identity and the narratives attached to that identity will help us chart the course for the next few sessions.

Where have you been?

We won’t spend a lot of time in the past, but it’s important to acknowledge the pivotal moments that set you on the path you are on today:

  • When were you at your best?
  • What strengthens you?
  • What pivots have you made in life and why?

Acknowledging what you’ve already accomplished in your life’s journey and what brought you to coaching today is a critical step in the process of determining where you want to go next.

Where are you now?

Just because we are born somewhere doesn’t mean that is where we will always be. Next, we will dive into where you chose to call home:

  • What makes you you?
  • Where do you put yourself on the map of life?
  • Where do you feel “at home”?

Having a stronger sense of self allows you to embrace what you love about yourself, and look for opportunities to reframe or let go of identities and patterns that no longer serve you.

Where would you like to go?

You’ve come this far, where to next? In these sessions we take a look at your life map and set goals for where you’d like to go next:

  • What does your life map look like now?
  • Where do you want to go next and how will you get there?
  • What support do you need to cross into this new territory?

Knowing where you want to go next allows you to focus on the future and enjoy where you are now.

Becoming a savvy traveller

We take a look at how far you’ve come on your journey and, with a clear vision of where you’d like to go, we create systems and maps to help you travel through the rest of your journey with less baggage and a better sense of direction.

We identify the tools, tips, tricks, and more that will keep you on the right path.

Through coaching, we arrive at the understanding that it is not the destination that matters, but rather being fully engaged with the journey – no matter where it takes us.

Bon Voyage
