How will you make your Mark?
S– Stop and do a personal assessment of your life. After your assessment what have you found out about yourself (self-awareness) that may need some attention?
What would you like to address during the coaching journey?
P-Plan- now that you have some clarity about your life, commit to writing a plan.
R-Reframing perspectives-What mind-sets will you need to change? What underlying beliefs or limiting beliefs could be discussed during the coaching journey?
I– Inspiration- what is your life built on? As you move forward make sure that the plan you have in place is based on your values and beliefs.
Point to ponder: At this stage consider your values and beliefs. (If you need to do this as a separate activity, make a list of your values and beliefs)
N-Navigation- Now that all things are in place keep your goal in front of you (visualisation) and move forward. This is where you maintain the course of your plan (This could include review and making adjustments where challenges arise.)
T-take off on your journey- where will you go with what you have learnt and the plans you have put in place? Although you have a particular place in mind, use that only as a guide, not a limitation.
You have something that the world needs. Go for it!
Along with being an edible marine bivalve mollusc the World English Dictionary defines oyster as something from which advantage, delight, profit, etc., may be derived: the world is his oyster
Using the example cited by the World English Dictionary, english-for-students.com says that “The World is Your Oyster” means that you have the ability to achieve anything you want.
Oysters produce pearls, objects of great value. Once you have the oyster, it gives up the pearl without much of a fight. Getting the pearl requires the oyster to be opened. But despite the hardness of the oyster shell, they can be opened with ease. Oyster shells are held closed by a single muscle called the adductor. Oysters are shucked (opened) using a thin knife to cut the adductor muscle. Once the abductor is cut, the shell falls open.
According to American Pearl in their article, A Brief History of Pearls: How Pearls form in the Oyster. “The birth of a pearl is truly a miraculous event. Pearls are grown by live oysters far below the surface of the sea. They are born from oysters complete with a shimmering iridescence, lustre and soft inner glow unlike any other gem on earth.” This birth does not come without some type of irritation. When a foreign object lodges itself inside of the oyster’s body the oyster takes action, by secreting a substance called nacre. Over time, the irritant will be completely encased by the silky crystalline coatings (nacre), the outcome, is a pearl.
See the challenges that you face as part of your nacre; they are all a part of the process that will bring you to the point of being the gem (pearl) that you were meant to be. Remembering that just like the pearl you are unlike any other gem on the earth.
Instead of allowing those challenging and sometimes irritating situations in your life hinder you, have strategies in place to protect yourself while at the same time inspiring you until you reach the place that you want to be. Live your life with purpose and full of passion.
You are of great value, with a lot to offer. Go shine! The world awaits you.
