DESCRIPTION OF THE FUSE MODEL
Utilizing the FUSE model, the client and coach will work together to evaluate the areas of life in which the client would like to address and enhance in order to achieve a life in which they feel complete, fulfilled, and genuinely living as their authentic self.
In the first step, the client will identify the areas of their life that they would like to focus on, which are the Focus Areas. If the client is already aware of what areas need focus, they will be encouraged to prioritize them to designate the first area they would like to address, then the second area, and lastly, the third. If the client needs clarity of which areas they would like to address, then assessment tools can be utilized, such as the Wheel of Life.
To encourage the client to prioritize their focus areas, the client can take the first priority area (e.g. work), and “rate” this area on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 indicating that they are not aligned or happy at all with the current situation, and a 10 indicating it is the “perfect 10 dream life” in this area, in which they feel completely fulfilled and grateful for every aspect. As a fun exercise, the client can be encouraged to write a detailed description of what the Perfect 10 Dream Life would look like in this area. They will be encouraged to have fun with it, think of the possibilities if there were absolutely no limits, get creative!! Next, the client will “rate” what their life currently looks like in this Focus Area, and write a detailed description of it. This will allow the coach to get insight, as well, of the current elements of the client’s life.
