A Coaching Model By Mark Wavle, Career and Agile Coach, UNITED STATES

The 3C’s Agile Coaching Model Mark WavleThe 3C’s Achieve Your Fullest Potential

A coaching relationship is an intensive collaboration that spurs your growth amid challenges and opportunities. To achieve your fullest potential, this relationship must include strong connection, constant curiosity, and growing creativity.

Throughout my career, there were numerous moments when someone took a keen interest in me and partnered as I took steps forward. At each point, I couldn’t imagine where I might go, but intersections with these key people brought clarity to my vision. Managers, peers, elders, salespeople, and leaders all walked alongside me.

Many people hunger for clarity, confidence, direction, or support in their careers, whether they are seeking a change or finding their way through adversity. I endeavor to be present with others in their career journeys through personal career coaching using my powerful 3C model of Connection, Curiosity, and Creativity.

The 3C’s Model

Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable.- David Augsberger

A coaching relationship requires connection to build the trust and openness needed to explore important career situations. This connection is established between us at the start of the coaching relationship and re-established in each coaching session.

I strive to meet you in your perspectives through the use of:

  • Presence – holding space and maintaining focus on you
  • Reflection – helping you hear your own words and viewpoints
  • Empathy – seeking to understand your thoughts and feelings

I often find clients have their fists clenched around the challenge they’re facing, unable to let go or even look at it without seeing limits and failures. The connection established in a coaching relationship is a safe place for you to dwell inside your reality and begin to loosen your grip. As we partner to look at this reality together, you will connect to your own perspectives in a way that opens up exploration with curiosity and creativity.

Every problem, every dilemma, every dead end we find ourselves facing in life, only appears unsolvable inside a particular frame or point of view. Enlarge the box, or create another frame around the data, and problems vanish, while new opportunities appear.  Benjamin & Rosamund Zander, The Art of Possibility

Curiosity is powerful in the coaching relationship.

I exhibit open curiosity about you and your situation by setting aside my preconceptions and asking curious questions. I love curious questions so much that my friends have nicknamed me Question Mark. My questions give you the freedom to go further into your thinking and emotions, following them to deeper places.

In this mode, I invite you to curiously examine the extent of your assumptions, the benefits they provide, and the constraints they impose. This curiosity also extends to the situation you are in, your perspectives, and the opportunities you currently see.

As your hand is now open, you can see what you’ve been holding on to, turn it around and see it from different angles, and ask yourself questions about it. Inside of this curiosity is the soil where creativity can thrive.

A skilled listener can help people tap into their own wisdom. -Richard Rohr

With your hand open and your perspectives explored, opportunities open up that didn’t seem possible before. This moment of rising hope invites you to tap an inner well of ideas as you form your path forward.

Invariably, you will begin creating options to reach your goal. I am present with you in this place to bring clarity to your thinking and help you refine your steps. I help you connect with your internal motivation to own your success with a self-created action plan.

3C Combination of Connection, Curiosity, and Creativity

Whether seeking a job change, reaching for a new challenge, or finding your way through adversity, my unique 3C combination of Connection, Curiosity, and Creativity can help you see your own reality more clearly in ways that open up new possibilities for your career and life.
