A Research Paper By Kristen Webb
Decisions Coach, AUSTRALIA
When a person puts the needs of others before their own needs to an extremely imbalanced level, it becomes an unhealthy condition known as people pleasing. A people-pleaser, for instance, might struggle to say “yes” to an idea they believe that others do not, or “no” to requests that they truly wish to deny. They may lie and appear to be interested in things that they are not interested in at all. They are very good at moving, fitting in, and conforming to whatever expectations they feel are in the best interests of others right now. People-pleasers worry about other people’s opinions of them as well.
